About the Role

We are seeking friendly, motivated, and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Cashiers at Love's Travel Stops and Country Stores. This role is vital in delivering a positive experience to our customers through fast, friendly, and accurate service. As a cashier, you will be the first point of contact for many of our customers, helping them find products, answer questions, and complete transactions efficiently. The position requires flexibility, teamwork, and a willingness to perform various duties depending on business needs. No prior experience is necessary, as we are committed to training and developing our team members. The role also offers opportunities for cross-training in departments such as Restaurant Services, Fresh Kitchen, Facility Maintenance, and leadership pathways. The physical demands include the ability to lift 25+ pounds and work in different temperature environments, ensuring safety and efficiency in daily operations.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not mandatory)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Basic math skills for handling transactions
Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks
Physical ability to lift 25+ pounds and stand for extended periods
Ability to work in different temperature conditions
Teamwork and customer service orientation

Responsibilities

Providing excellent customer service by assisting customers in finding items, answering questions, and addressing their needs
Processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently at the cash register
Offering additional sales opportunities to enhance customer experience
Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the work area, sales floor, restrooms, showers, and fuel pumps
Ensuring food safety standards are met for fresh food and deli products using appropriate methods and technology
Performing routine cleaning duties and trash removal to uphold store standards
Participating in cross-training in other departments such as Restaurant Services, Fresh Kitchen, and Facility Maintenance
Supporting team members and contributing to a collaborative work environment
