Alera Group is a national brokerage firm founded in 2017, specializing in Employee Benefits, Property & Casualty Insurance, and Financial Services. This role can be located in one of the following Wisconsin offices: Appleton, Green Bay, Eau Claire, Madison, Onalaska, Stevens Point, Waukesha, or Wausau.

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Commercial Lines Account Manager with prior experience in commercial lines to service and manage a portfolio of mid-market to large commercial insurance accounts.

Responsibilities

• Service and manage a portfolio of commercial insurance accounts by coordinating renewals, policy changes, endorsements, billing, audits, and client inquiries while ensuring regulatory and company compliance.
• Support new and renewal business by preparing applications and proposals, evaluating client exposures, analyzing loss trends, obtaining carrier quotes, and assisting producers with marketing and placement.
• Collaborate closely with producers, underwriters, carriers, and internal teams to deliver seamless client service, maintain accurate agency system records, and drive strong account retention.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years of commercial lines insurance servicing experience.
• Active P&C license required or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
• Working knowledge of commercial insurance products (GL, Property, Workers’ Comp, Auto, Umbrella, etc.).
• Proficiency in agency management systems such as Applied Epic, AMS360, or similar.
• Strong communication, organization, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Commitment to professional development, including pursuit of CISR, CIC, or related designations within two years.
