About the role
Perform a variety of administrative duties and customer service functions in a busy agricultural retail environment. Operate the truck scale, handle walk-in parts and merchandise sales, and support agronomy operations with accurate record keeping and daily transactions.
Responsibilities
- Manage phone communications
- Assist walk-in customers and supply excellent customer service
- Responsible for record keeping and invoicing for multiple departments
- Operate truck scale
- Provide technical support for agronomy software
- Maintain inventory and stock shelves
- Prepare daily cash reports and daily bank deposits for the location/departments
- Perform monthly and annual inventory reconciliations
- Maintain clean and customer-friendly work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Accounting & Financial Management
- Record daily agronomy sales, credits, and adjustments in accounting software
- Prepare daily cash reports and daily bank deposits for agronomy and energy divisions
- Prepare, reconcile, and post invoices for fertilizer, chemical, and application services
- Monitor customer accounts, apply payments, and assist with collection of payment
- Reconcile inventory and sales margins monthly to ensure product and cost accuracy
Inventory & Cost Control
- Track fertilizer and chemical inventory; reconcile physical counts with system balances
- Verify product transfers, returns, and adjustments between locations
- Work closely with operations to ensure product usage is properly documented
Billing & Customer Support
- Generate customer invoices in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy of quantities and fees
- Support sales agronomists with billing questions, corrections, and product pricing verification
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding account balances, statements, and billing discrepancies
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Valid driver’s license with approved company driving record
- Good computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office packages including Excel and Word
- Team player with good people and communication skills
Schedule
Normal work week runs Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Some weekends and overtime will be required during high volume days or busy periods.
