Customer Navigator

We are looking for a Customer Navigator to provide high-touch, non-clinical support for patients and guests receiving care in Palo Alto, California. This Contract position serves as a key point of contact before, during, and after visits, helping individuals move through the healthcare experience with clarity, confidence, and professionalism. The ideal candidate brings strong customer service skills, clear communication, and the ability to coordinate details while maintaining a patient-centered approach in a fast-paced medical environment. Responsibilities: • Guide patients and guests through the healthcare experience by serving as a primary non-clinical resource for questions, logistics, and general support surrounding their visits. • Coordinate appointments and related care arrangements for referred individuals across inpatient and outpatient settings, helping ensure timely access to services. • Share transportation and campus navigation information, including available shuttle options and directions to hospital and clinic locations. • Address patient and guest concerns with professionalism, escalating issues to the appropriate departments and documenting summaries when needed. • Deliver courteous, service-focused communication with patients, families, and staff while supporting a welcoming and respectful care environment. • Follow established hospital policies, safety expectations, quality standards, and regulatory requirements in all daily interactions and tasks. • Protect confidential information and handle sensitive situations with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment. • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on service expectations, compliance requirements, and patient support practices. • Prior experience in customer service, patient support, concierge services, or a related healthcare-facing role. • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and internal teams. • Proven ability to schedule appointments, manage changing priorities, and coordinate multiple tasks with accuracy. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and database systems used for tracking and documentation. • Understanding of compliance, confidentiality, safety, and quality expectations within a detail-focused healthcare environment. • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams while demonstrating reliability, strong workplace conduct, and respect for others. • Comfortable assisting diverse populations with empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a service-oriented mindset.
