Accountabilities
- Deliver high-quality financial support to patients through inbound and outbound communications.
- Resolve account issues, provide education, maintain compliance, and identify opportunities to improve the patient financial experience.
- Handle inbound and outbound phone interactions in a fast-paced call center environment while maintaining a professional and patient-focused approach.
- Provide comprehensive support by answering questions, resolving concerns, and guiding patients through financial processes and available solutions.
- Manage accounts receivable activities, including payment collection, account resolution, discount application, and installment plan setup and maintenance.
- Educate patients on billing processes, insurance-related topics, financial assistance options, and applicable healthcare regulations.
- Review self-pay account information, insurance billing details, and patient statements to ensure accuracy and appropriate follow-up.
- Maintain compliance with internal policies and applicable state and federal regulations throughout all account interactions.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to coordinate revenue management activities and improve patient satisfaction.
- Use multiple billing and financial systems to support operational needs and system transitions.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and communicate recommendations to enhance service quality.
- Complete assigned reports, projects, and administrative responsibilities while maintaining accountability for results.
Requirements
- Experience in customer service, financial support, or healthcare-related environments.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to manage sensitive conversations, learn complex processes, and provide clear guidance to patients.
- Previous customer service experience preferred.
- Experience in healthcare billing, accounts receivable, insurance, or financial services is a plus.
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
- The ability to explain complex financial and healthcare information in clear, patient-friendly language.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
- A detail-oriented approach with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with teams.
- Comfortable working with multiple software systems and digital tools.
- A reliable home working environment and ability to perform effectively in a remote setting.
