About the role

Join Corning’s Global Marketing Customer Education & Programs Team, which delivers industry-leading marketing programs and customer education. The Customer Education Marketing Specialist supports initiatives for program members, training/alliance partners, and customers in the In-Building, Data Center, and Carrier markets. This role develops the annual education plan for USCAN, leads the creation of class content, marketing materials, and scheduling, and ensures alignment with business strategy. The position requires a cross-regional approach to support global training and content uniformly.

Responsibilities

  • Grow and maintain a customer training program that promotes and supports global marketing initiatives across markets and solutions.
  • Collaborate with Channel Marketing, Regional Marketing, Sales Engineers, Product Line Managers, and Engineering Services to identify customer education needs and future opportunities.
  • Develop and project-manage live and virtual training events to support the In-Building Network (IBN), Data Center, and Carrier (CN) sales strategy.
  • Collaborate with subject-matter experts in Systems Engineering, Field Engineering, Application Engineers, and Regional/Applications Marketing to develop or source training content and curriculum.
  • Work with Engineering Services and Field Engineering to build and maintain product samples and equipment for class curriculum.
  • Coordinate logistics for live education classes with Distribution Branch Managers and Sales Engineers nationwide.
  • Propose opportunities to support USCAN Customer Education content and processes with Global Customer Education Marketing teams.
  • Build promotional campaigns using social media, marketing automation software, and traditional inbound/outbound campaigns.
  • Maintain certifications, customer/program education records, and report on program results.
  • Use event planning software (Cvent) to manage event registration, promotion, and post-event reporting.
  • Learn, adopt, and leverage software and cloud solutions to support business objectives.
  • Establish and build relationships with external suppliers as needed.
  • Operate within a specified customer education budget.
  • Provide basic customer support for program members.
  • Help maintain and develop program databases and processes to improve the training program.
  • Uphold Corning’s integrity and appearance standards as a representative of Corning Optical Communications.

Travel Requirements: 30%

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Marketing, Communications, or equivalent degree.
  • 2-4 years of experience in marketing, communications, event planning, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with event coordination and/or delivery.
  • Experience developing and managing live and/or virtual training or educational programs.
  • Proficiency with marketing automation tools and event management platforms (Cvent preferred).
  • Fiber optic knowledge and training experience is helpful.

Pay

The range for this position is $80,083.00 - $110,115.00 (full-time status). Starting pay depends on geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
