The AML Compliance Customer Due Diligence & Referral Management Senior Analyst completes due diligence reviews on prospective customers to determine the nature and purpose of the customer relationship, completes Rapid Risk Assessments (RRA) and triages incoming referrals for assignment throughout the department.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts due diligence reviews on prospective customers to determine the nature and purpose of customer relationship and develop an understanding of the types of transactions in which a customer is likely to engage businesses, and other high-risk industries to determine if the alert is a match to a firm associated entity or individual.
  • Upon completion of the review the team determines the risk to the firm of onboarding the customer and provides a recommendation to on-board or not. As warranted, the team works directly with the AML Client Review Working Group to facilitate the prospect decline.
  • Completes Rapid Risk Assessments for AML risks related to customers that might be considered towards a policy exception.
  • Evaluates referrals to the department to determine the appropriate escalation point for resolution including, but not limited, to an investigation team for review or Advisory for consultation.
  • Administers the Internal Watch List and responds to blocked customer referrals.
  • Assists management in the training of and providing guidance to more junior team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial crime in such activities as conducting suspicious activity alert reviews for money laundering or fraud, customer screening reviews, or testing controls related to money laundering or fraud.
  • Strong knowledge of AML laws, regulations, and industry best practices including, but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act, Financial Action Task Force (FATF) recommendations, and Office of Foreign Assets (OFAC) Regulations.
  • Analytic and problem-solving skills, attention to details, highly organized, and excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Ability to identify risk issues related to financial crime, knowledge to provide guidance when warranted, and insight to appropriately escalate issue to others for further guidance.
  • Strategic thinking to understand how the work they do impacts the overall AML program and fits into the broader mission of the firm.
  • Ability to foster and develop relationships across the department and developing as a trusted advisor in their specific area of expertise and strong knowledge of LPL's business model and operational processes.

  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) Certification

Pay

$73,851.00 - $123,085.00. Actual base salary varies based on factors including but not limited to relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
