Customer Care Representative- Health Plan Enrollment

TEKsystems is seeking a Contract Customer Service Representative for a fully onsite position in San Diego, CA (92123). This role is anticipated to close on Aug 27, 2026.

About the role

Handle high-volume inbound calls regarding health plan enrollment and benefits in a metric-driven, HIPAA-compliant call center environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist members with plan selection, enrollment changes, and qualifying life events.
• Verify eligibility, coverage, and enrollment status.
• Explain plan benefits, premiums, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket costs.
• Research and resolve enrollment-related issues; escalate complex inquiries when necessary.
• Document customer interactions accurately in company systems.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and company standards.
• Meet productivity, quality, and customer service metrics.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months of recent call center experience.
• Experience working in a metric-driven environment with KPIs.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic computer and data entry skills; ability to navigate multiple systems while assisting customers.
• Strong research and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Healthcare, health insurance, Medicare, or benefits-related call center experience (preferred).
• Experience handling grievances and service recovery situations (preferred).
• Experience managing 60-80 calls per day (preferred).
• Familiarity with Epic and/or Talkdesk (preferred).
• Knowledge of HMO plans and health insurance terminology (preferred).

Pay

$25.00 - $25.00/hr.
