About the Role

The major objective for this position is to increase sales (indirect and direct) in your assigned Southern New Jersey/Delaware territory by growing existing customer accounts, expanding current business partnerships, and creating new business relationships. You will engage customers through all available communication means, positioning Heilind, its franchised lines, and services as the indispensable and trusted go-to resource for supply chain and engineering.

As the Customer Business Manager, you will collaborate with the inside support team and other key departments to build solid relationships with customers and suppliers based on Heilind's performance, trust, and innovation. You will utilize all available resources, services, and personnel to make Heilind indispensable to the customer.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to service areas to represent the company.
  • Within the first 2 weeks: Meet with branch leadership to understand company vision, objectives, and individual expectations; set up systems to measure progress.
  • Within the first 30 days: Learn Heilind’s systems and sales tools; proactively introduce yourself to top 10–20 accounts and top 5 supplier reps in person.
  • Within the first 60 days: Meet with remaining supplier reps and account base in person; review top 20 accounts with the inside sales team; become proficient with CRM and sales tools; begin loading new opportunities (designs and quotes) into the Opportunity/Design Tool daily.
  • Within 90 days: Strategically plan territory coverage with your Branch Manager by ranking accounts (A, B, or C); complete all assigned training modules; schedule regular meetings with supplier reps to discuss opportunities and strategies; identify a minimum of $150,000 in new opportunities.
  • Within the first 6 months: Accomplish a minimum of three supplier training events; provide weekly updates on sales leads and critical activities; maintain ten active new design opportunities; identify $300,000 in new business (existing or new customers).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in business or a technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of sales/marketing experience, preferably in electronic component distribution or a closely related field; industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with sales tracking software is an asset.
  • U.S. Person (ITAR): This position requires access to information or hardware subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). You must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Domestic travel required 50% to 75% of the time, including frequent driving; must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record in good standing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proven track record of growing business through long-term customer and supplier relationships.
  • Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Data entry skills are a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
  • Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers (e.g., paperwork, typing, using a mouse/keyboard).
  • Close visual acuity required for preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform essential functions.

Working Conditions

Position is primarily office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
