Customer Application Engineer
About the role
This is a customer application engineer position in the MPS San Jose office. The candidate will work on products for the memory market, specifically the DIMM market, including customized/non‑customized Power Management ICs, standalone and digital interface converters, etc. Most products operate below 30 V and below 100 W. The role involves supporting key memory customers, understanding their issues and requirements, planning action items, communicating with internal MPS departments (design, quality, package, failure analysis), driving actions to meet customer needs, and resolving concerns to achieve and secure design‑in of the products.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with memory customers to understand the market, their technology, product roadmap, and production plan.
- Understand and support customers’ questions, concerns, and requests from a technical perspective.
- Plan action items to resolve customer issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as design, quality, package, and failure analysis teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in customer communication and support is highly desired.
- Previous experience as an application engineer or technical field application engineer is preferred.
- BSEE or higher is required.
Skills
- Fluent communication skills in English.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills.

Pay
Pay is based on market location and may vary based on experience, skills, education, and other job‑related factors. The base salary range for this position in California is $100,000‑$140,000.
