About the role
The Customer Account Specialist provides proactive customer service to both customers and sales representatives. This position requires adaptability to process changes, problem-solving, and multitasking.
Responsibilities
- Primary contact for customers and sales representatives regarding order acceptance, production dates, quantities, products, shipments, and pricing.
- Manage assigned accounts and build relationships through customer visits and dedicated calls.
- Assist in building strong customer relationships by working through internal systems to meet their needs and requirements.
- Develop and maintain customer profiles to document expectations and delivery commitments.
- Process item setup, substitutions, returns, credits, and assist with billing, shipping, and product inquiries.
- Work with plant schedulers to provide customers with agreeable and workable schedules; monitor schedules to ensure timely receipt of materials and approvals.
- Serve as the Voice of Customer, maintaining composure during complex exchanges and adapting to supply challenges.
- Participate in the customer onboarding process, highlighting critical components, concerns, and expectations.
- Communicate Volatile Organic Compound notifications and pricing updates.
- Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and use independent decision-making to proactively solve customer problems.
- Maintain in-depth working knowledge of product uses and functions.
- Provide proactive and consultative customer service aligned with company strategy.
- Assist with special projects, including allocations, pricing increases, and reporting.
- Focus on order management and accurate customer master data.
- Drive customer adoption of the company portal.
- Process sales orders (EDI and manual), troubleshoot order discrepancies, and assist with pricing, order processing, and delivery issues.
- Ensure seamless and transparent execution from order acceptance through final product delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- SAP experience desired.
- EDI experience a plus.
- SharePoint and Smartsheet experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Windows, Excel, Outlook, and other MS Office applications.
Pay
The base pay for this position ranges from $59,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $65,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
