Customer Account Specialist
Pay starts at $23/hour, with competitive increases based on prior experience and relevant expertise. No late nights, weekends, or holidays. Flexible hybrid work environment (in office 2 days/week after training).
About the role
As a Customer Account Specialist, you will work closely with professional event planners to build trusted relationships and identify products and service solutions that help streamline their work. In this role, you’ll manage a high volume of complex custom orders, coordinate details, and ensure everything moves smoothly from order to production. Our Customer Account Specialists are customer-focused, detail-oriented, and proactive problem solvers. Success in this role requires strong time management, adaptability, and the ability to confidently manage multiple orders while thriving in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with customers by phone and email, providing fast, friendly, and knowledgeable support.
- Manage multiple complex orders at different stages—from initial quote to production to shipment—while keeping every detail organized.
- Process both stock and custom orders with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Balance a high volume of emails with incoming calls while maintaining responsiveness and strong follow-through.
- Maintain ongoing communication with customers throughout the order process.
- Assess customer needs and deadlines to recommend the right products and service solutions from our extensive product line.
- Provide pricing, art proofs, and communicate clear timelines, shipping updates, and order status.
- Partner with internal teams to coordinate order details and manage change requests.
- Troubleshoot order challenges and last-minute issues while staying calm and solution-focused.
Requirements
- 2+ years’ experience managing accounts or processing complex, detail-driven orders, ideally in a contact center or high-volume support environment.
- Experience identifying customer needs and recommending appropriate product or service solutions (soft sales experience preferred).
- Strong attention to detail with a process-oriented mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stay calm and solution-focused when working with customers facing time-sensitive deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to research information and troubleshoot issues independently.
- Professional, friendly communication style (verbal & written) with excellent listening and rapport-building skills.
- Comfortable working at a computer for the majority of the workday.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using ERP or order-entry systems.
- Minimum typing speed of 45 WPM.
- Reliable work ethic and ability to work Monday–Friday, 8-hour shift between 8am–5pm.
