Custom Home Lead Installer

As part of the Best Buy team, you’ll help fulfill our purpose to enrich lives through technology by delivering, installing, configuring, and programming advanced audio systems in residential and commercial spaces. You’ll establish cabling infrastructure, program automation systems, and collaborate with sales teams, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure high-quality custom installations.

Responsibilities

• Drive a positive customer experience by building relationships and providing solutions to their needs.
• Establish the cabling infrastructure in both retrofit and new construction work environments.
• Program basic automation and control systems.
• Collaborate with Best Buy sales teams, Custom Installation Managers, Engineers, Programmers, General Contractors, and subcontractors.
• Oversee all aspects of customer deliveries, setups, tutoring sessions, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure installations meet custom standards for device mounting, cable management, power management, and functionality.
• Follow National Electrical Code, Uniform Building Code, and any jurisdiction-mandated laws or codes.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience in sales, delivery, installation, or repair OR military equivalent.
• 2 years of customer service experience.
• Current, valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets Best Buy safety standards (minimal violations/accidents).
• Ability to lift 75 pounds individually or 150 pounds as a team.
• Acquire and maintain any state or local licensing, as required, within 90 days of hire.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Solid understanding of general electrical and construction principles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an in-home experience environment.
• Experience selling and/or installing home or car AV equipment.
