Custom Closet/CAD Drafter and Engineer

About the role

Closets By Design - Utah is a leader in the home organizing industry, passionate about maximizing home storage spaces with beautiful, customized solutions. We design, build, and install custom closets, garage cabinets, mud-rooms, offices, pantries, and more. We are seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and motivated individual to join our team as a Custom Closet/CAD Drafter and Engineer.

This pivotal position involves interpreting custom closet designs and transforming them into purchase orders and working shop CAD drawings for our manufacturing facility. You will also contribute to improving our software and machining capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Review sales designs to ensure compliance with the company’s product offerings and installation requirements.
• Comprehensively review designs with meticulous attention to detail.
• Collaboratively address and resolve design queries efficiently.
• Compile an accurate cutlist detailing all parts and machining requirements for the design components.
• Complete and submit necessary orders to various vendors within established time frames in accordance with lead times and company standards.
• Adhere to all company policies and uphold standards of behavior and performance.
• Work well within a team and act as a problem solver, not a problem reporter.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (College training is preferred).
• Familiarity with computer usage and technology.
• Experience with Cabinet Vision or other CAD software is preferred.
• Manufacturing experience is desirable.
