Job Description Frank Darling is a female-founded fine jewelry brand making custom engagement rings feel exciting, personal, and refreshingly human. Our modern, sustainability-minded designs have been featured in Vogue, WSJ, Bloomberg, Glossy, and more. We have an immediate, on-site opening for a Custom CAD Coordinator. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented CAD jewelry professional with strong interpersonal skills that thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. This role does not require creating CAD models, but instead guiding CAD teams into creating models perfectly and quickly through great communication and clear feedback. While you won’t be creating CAD models, experience with Rhino is required to open, read and analyze models before they go to clients in renders or into casting. This position is specified in custom designs: being able to assess a custom sketch and to translate it into a workable custom CAD model, while being able to analyze it for structural feasibility. The ideal candidate is a CAD designer… who wants to aim higher and be in charge of multiple CAD Designer and CAD design teams! Key Duties and Responsibilities: Collaborate with sales team to collect design requirementsTranslate 2D ring sketches into written CAD requirementsReview and approve completed CAD models to ensure they meet design guidelinesProvide CAD team feedback on models that don’t meet design requirementsOperate FormLabs 3D printer and create client-facing 3D prints Requirements and Experience: Experience working with custom designs, minimum 6 months either CAD modelling, developing or assessing designs.Prior experience in fine jewelry productionExcellent written communication skills and sketching ability.Ability to view 3d model files and inspect them for accuracy.Familiarity with fine jewelry terminology and designAbility to anticipate manufacturing issues based on 3D modelsAbility to interpret sketches and ensure they are accurately translated into 3DFurther Experience in Matrix / Rhino 3DM CAD software a plus but not required.Familiarity with fine jewelry construction and tolerancesBench jewelry making experience a plus Job Details: $60k-80k based on experienceFull Time On-Site Benefits: Equity Compensation.
