Custodian1 - Part Time

About the role

The part time Custodian will handle all aspects of janitorial duties using proper cleaning methods and procedures. The position requires following written and oral communications and solving problems during the cleaning process. One Part Time position – Montana Tech campus (19 hours per week) - 12 pm to 4 pm for 4 hours Monday through Thursday, 3 hours on Friday, but subject to change.

Responsibilities

• Clean campus offices, labs, classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and assigned areas as required.
• Have working knowledge of proper cleaning methods and procedures in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintain proper appearance of buildings to include entrances and exits, snow removal of sidewalks adjacent to buildings, and grounds clean-up around buildings.
• Follow safe work practices and participate in safety and custodial training as required. Display proper knowledge, care, and use of cleaning products and supplies, and maintain equipment as required.
• Be able to properly lift 40- to 60-lbs from ground level to a height of 4’-6” and be able to carry 30-lbs for a maximum distance of 30-ft with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Follow oral and written instructions,
• Solve problems encountered during cleaning process.
• Work alone and on occasion as part of a team.
• Be able to perform manual labor including snow removal with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the custodial manager.

Requirements

• Experience in institutional/commercial custodial work such as waxing floors.
• Working knowledge of proper cleaning methods, procedures and cleaning machines in a safe and efficient manner.
• Working knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) for all cleaning products used.

$15.15 Per Hour

Schedule

• Will work 4 hours per day Monday through Thursday, and 3 hours on Friday at Montana Tech north campus, between the hours of 12 pm and 4 pm.
