To provide safe, clean, sanitary and organized interior and exterior spaces that provide a suitable environment for learning.

Requirements

• Prior to employment, the following must be addressed:
  • Complete a criminal history background check to prove that the individual has not been convicted of a crime or a disorderly person's offense in accordance with N.J.S.A 18A:6-7.1.
  • Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 12101 and in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6A:32-6.2.
  • Pass the state-required Mantoux Intradermal Tuberculin Test as required by N.J.A.C. 6A:32-6.3.
  • Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
  • Understand the requirement to maintain confidentiality concerning charter school related matters.
  • Meet such alternatives to the above qualifications as the school director finds appropriate and acceptable.

Essential Performance Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains the building, including conducting morning assessments, checking classrooms and common areas, ensuring HVAC systems are operational, replacing or cleaning filters, and reporting issues.
• Maintains logs for boilers and reports any leaks, damage, or deficiencies.
• Maintains safety and security measures, including monitoring fire alarms, operating security measures during drills, and ensuring all doors are closed and locked.
• Maintains cleanliness and order, including snow removal, lawn mowing, leaf blowing, and cleaning bathrooms, offices, conference rooms, and lounges.
• Prepares and maintains areas for activities, such as setting up tables, mopping floors, and sanitizing bathrooms and common areas.
• Responds to emergencies, including spills, medical situations, and other calls for assistance.
• Attends trainings and submits required documentation.

Physical And Mental Demands, Work Hazards

Works in standard office and school building environments. Works in inclement weather and hot/cold environments. Maintains all appropriate medical clearance to perform duty. Performs work on a rotating schedule, including during breaks and snow removal when schools are closed.
