About the role
MSSD is seeking a Custodial Worker to maintain the interior of facilities, perform routine maintenance, and ensure safety and sanitation.
Responsibilities
- Maintain interior of facilities to a high level of cleanliness and sanitation.
- Perform routine maintenance of all custodial and grounds equipment.
- Keep accurate inventory of supplies and equipment and notify building administrator of items to be ordered.
- Work in compliance with Asbestos Hazards Emergency Response Act and Material Safety Data Sheets for all chemicals used.
- Maintain and perform work in compliance with Asbestos Hazards Emergency Response Act and Material Safety Data Sheets for all chemicals used.
- Maintain grounds, including cutting grass and snow removal, if necessary.
- Create and implement comprehensive prioritized cleaning/maintenance schedules (daily/weekly/monthly tasks).
- Train other custodians in the use of equipment and cleaning supplies.
- Maintain confidentiality of parent, student, and personally identifiable information.
- Maintain CPR certification at the level determined by the American Heart Association or Red Cross as Basic Life Support Health Care Providers.
- Participate in staff development to keep custodial skills updated and current.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of two years experience in custodial service.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of and ability to perform work in compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Basic life support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
Skills
- Cleaning and maintenance skills.
- Equipment operation and maintenance.
- Compliance with safety and health regulations.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $19,008 - $36,408, with potential for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials.
