About the role
The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) is recruiting for Custodians at Oregon State Hospital (OSH) Environmental Services Department. These positions are responsible for maintaining a clean, healthy, and therapeutic environment for both patients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect all substances, spills, and/or accidents.
- Pick-up and deliver bio-hazard waste and sharps to designated secure storage areas.
- Disinfect patient wards during infectious disease outbreaks.
- Sweep, dust, mop, and/or buff hard surfaces.
- Vacuum and spot clean carpets and remove trash.
- Scrub, rinse, and refinish floors; clean, shampoo, and extract carpets and upholstered furniture.
- Clean and maintain custodial equipment.
- Prep floors and walls for remodel and/or renovation projects.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Minimum 6 months of custodial experience, including operating equipment needed for custodial duties.
- Ability to push/pull heavy custodial equipment, lift up to 50 pounds, crouch, stoop, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods.

- Experience utilizing effective custodial organization skills.
- Experience effectively using technology and training to enhance performance and productivity.
- Experience recognizing and valuing individual and cultural differences.
- Experience in operating commercial custodial equipment such as carpet extractors, scrubbers, buffers, no-touch cleaning systems, and various types of commercial vacuums.
- Experience in proper use and dilution ratios of cleaning chemical solutions.
- Experience in time management and prioritizing work.
Special Requirements
- To be hired, you must have a criminal records check that meets OHA criteria at the time of hire and throughout employment.

Additional Details
- The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect the additional 6.95%.
- The information in your application will be used to complete an Equal Pay Analysis to determine salary placement upon hire.
- The salary range is determined through a fair review of your education, experience, and training as it relates to the position.
