Custodian, per diem – Boys & Girls Club of Worcester

Per Diem (as needed) position providing flexible coverage based on operational needs. Shifts may range from occasional hours or single-day assignments to extended coverage periods of two to three weeks for vacations, leaves of absence, or other staffing needs. There is no guaranteed minimum number of hours, and scheduling will vary depending on department requirements.

About the role

The custodian cleans and maintains the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester, Harrington Clubhouse. The organization is a nonprofit, charitable, educational organization recognized as a leading advocate for youth development, working to help youth of all backgrounds. Its mission is to inspire and enable all youth to become responsible, productive, and caring citizens.

Responsibilities

• General cleaning of building and equipment
• Vacuuming and cleaning floors
• Maintaining kitchen, bathrooms, walls, windows, and cafeteria
• Painting
• Changing light bulbs
• Outside landscaping including shoveling, lawn mowing, raking, and trash removal

Requirements

• Must be available to work days, Monday-Friday
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently
• Continuous activity while standing, walking, and moving throughout the Club and program areas
• Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and other movements as necessary to clean Club areas
• Regular exposure to loud noise, music, and other sounds associated with an active youth environment
• May be required to lift, carry, push, or move program supplies, equipment, and other materials weighing up to 25 pounds
• All applicants will be required to pass a criminal offender record information check (CORI) and a national background check
