Custodian (Part-Time)

Responsibilities

• Clean and monitor all offices and general building areas daily, including general trash and recycling removal, wet and dry mopping of floors, dusting of horizontal surfaces, and vacuuming carpeted areas.
• Clean and monitor all bathrooms and break room areas including wet and dry mopping of floors, dusting of horizontal surfaces, and maintaining stock levels.
• Maintain daily work charts of activities performed.
• Maintain stock levels of all custodial supplies, including requesting procurement of supplies and using company vehicle to pick up supplies or transfer between facilities.
• Don supplied articles of clothing to clean restricted laboratory areas including shirt, pants, safety shoes, lab coat, hairnet, beard cover, safety glasses, and gloves if applicable.
• Able to work at elevated heights on a ladder, or other lift equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in cleaning in a general office setting.
• 3+ years’ experience leading custodial efforts in a laboratory or hospital setting.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to conduct and hear ordinary conversation and telephone communication.
• Must be able to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, extended work hours and/or extra work hours, sometimes on short notice as required.
• Physically capable of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing steps and ladders, reaching, twisting and bending on occasion with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Must be capable of performing PPE gowning procedures on a frequent basis to enter BioSafety Level II including but not limited to safety glasses, lab coat, gloves, specialized clothing including laboratory scrubs (pants and shirt), appropriate shoes, and facial mask (if required).
