Custodian/ Maintenance Worker

About the role

Under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer, this position is responsible for performing various maintenance and custodial functions in the Del Rio Clinic Sites, consistent with mandated infection control, chemical, and safety regulations. The role includes Custodian-Floors responsibilities, works closely with the Safety Director to assure security throughout the clinic sites, and ensures compliance with State/Federal regulations, TJC, DSHS, HRSA standards, and Compliance Standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and custodial functions in the Del Rio Clinic Sites
• Execute Custodian-Floors duties (buffing, stripping, waxing, etc.)
• Work with the Safety Director to maintain security throughout clinic sites
• Ensure compliance with State/Federal regulations, TJC, DSHS, HRSA standards, and Compliance Standards

Requirements

• Minimum grammar school education or equivalent, with ability to read and write English and follow instructions (high school graduate or equivalent preferred)
• Six (6) months or more experience in building/custodial and housekeeping work required
• Basic knowledge in plumbing, painting, minor repairs, and air conditioning systems preferred
• Experience in floor care (buffing, stripping, waxing, etc.) preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
• Ability to communicate proficiently with individuals of diverse backgrounds and economic levels
• Must have an insured personal vehicle to travel to other clinics when necessary
• Good driving record required
• Able to meet on-call/stand-by requirements as needed

Physical demands

• Significant amount of time spent standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and reaching
• Exposed to inclement weather
