Custodian, M-F 5am-1:30pm

Responsibilities

• Maintain offices, classrooms, restrooms, public areas, or other assigned academic areas in clean and orderly conditions.
• Perform more complex tasks including operating cleaning equipment such as auto scrubbers, buffers and burnishers.
• Remove trash, clean bathrooms, wipe down surfaces, dust, vacuum, mop etc.
• Apply proper methods and materials.
• May mix own cleaning solutions.
• Report all repairs and pest control needs, and any housekeeping-related violations by residents, guests, or staff.
• May perform minor maintenance tasks, such as changing lightbulbs.

Qualifications

• Basic housekeeping experience, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning carpets, cleaning bathrooms and removal of trash is preferred.
• Ability to follow established policies, procedures, and directions, as well as adhere to regulatory guidelines in daily work is required.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are also essential.
• Basic computer, tablet, and/or smart phone usage and the ability to submit electronic timesheets are also required.

• Background checks will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment.

Salary and Benefits

• This full-time position starts at $15/hour, increasing with qualifications and experience.
• Position Type & Work Location: This is a non-exempt-level, benefited position. Based in Charlottesville, VA, and must be performed fully on-site.
