Reports To: Head Custodian or Lead Custodian

• - Some knowledge of use and handling of cleaning chemicals.

• - Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers.

• Hourly Rate: $18.74–$25.81 per hour

Job Goals

Maintain the overall cleanliness of the school or facility, including all cleaning and sanitizing, minor repairs and maintenance.

Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele.

Performance Responsibilities

• Cleans assigned areas of the facility, including classrooms, hallways, rest rooms, and common areas.

• Performs general maintenance tasks related to the upkeep and operation of the facility.
• Serves as a point of contact for facility security, ensuring doors are locked and secured during shifts.
• Reports to the Head Custodian (or Lead Custodian at smaller schools) and informs them of any building maintenance concerns that would require additional support from the Building Maintenance Department.
• During the summer months, performs total cleaning and general maintenance of the building. May be assigned to any crew for general district projects as necessary.
• Observes all district policies and procedures.
• Constant lifting of 5-20 pounds.
• Frequent lifting 20 to 50 pounds.
• Constant walking and standing.
• Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, climbing and kneeling.
• Occasional crawling, sitting, stooping.
• Exposure to cold or warm temperatures for extended periods of time.
• Assists in the setup of Special Events under the supervision of the Head or Lead custodian.
• Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
