Custodian/Groundskeeper

About the role

Good Harvest Market is Waukesha County's largest independently owned natural and organic grocer, home to our onsite restaurant, bar, and event venue, Hop Harvest & Vine. We're looking for a hands-on, self-motivated person who takes pride in keeping our business facilities clean and safe, inside and out. This is an active, varied role that keeps our store, restaurant, and grounds running safely and looking their best every single day.

Responsibilities

• Daily facility cleaning, including restrooms, floors, entrances, parking lot, and grounds
• Safe handling of chemicals and operation of floor scrubbers
• Basic onsite repairs and maintenance (filters, hardware, fixtures, minor plumbing, painting, patching)
• Assess when professional contractors are needed for repairs

Requirements

• 1-2 years of prior experience in a hands-on custodial role
• Familiarity with safe chemical handling and floor-scrubbing equipment
• Basic handyman skills and comfort using tools
• Self-motivated, organized, and dependable
• Able to manage priorities and work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must have at least one year of prior Custodian/Groundskeeper experience

Physical Requirements

• Continuous standing, frequent walking, bending, twisting, and reaching
• Repetitive use of hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders
• Frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds from waist to shoulders
• Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds from floor to waist
• Occasional carrying of up to 50 pounds
• Occasional pushing and pulling of up to 75 pounds
• Ability to work in a customer-service retail environment

Schedule

Full-time, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Tuesday through Saturday.

Pay

$17 to $20 per hour.
