Position Summary

As a Custodian, you will play a vital role in keeping our campus clean, safe, and welcoming while building meaningful connections with students, faculty, staff, and visitors. As a Custodian at UW-Platteville, you'll support the upkeep of historic landmarks like Ullrich Hall, a 1916 academic building that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. At the same time, you'll work around Sesquicentennial Hall, a state-of-the-art engineering and science facility, which contains the expansive Huff Family Innovation Center, one of the largest makerspaces in the Midwest.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Maintains clean and clear walkways to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice
- Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrances and reports issues to appropriate entities
- Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory, and requests additional supplies as needed
- Documents and reports repairs, violations, and pest control needs
- Utilizes basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables
