Custodian - Building Engineer - Night
About the role
The Custodian - Building Engineer - Night position is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the site, overseeing and supervising the work of other custodial personnel, and monitoring various systems in the building.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the general safety of the public by removing snow and ice from walkways and entries.
- Ensure stakeholder satisfaction by coordinating and performing all setups and teardowns in a timely manner.
- Utilize and train effective use of cleaning and restorative materials.
- Aid all emergency operations personnel as required.
- Exhibit working knowledge of the operation of electrical, gas, and water controls, all HVAC systems and related equipment.
- Utilize positive techniques to supervise and evaluate assigned personnel.
- Support all schedules and coordinate work activities of custodial personnel and contract services as assigned.
- Ensure the overall cleanliness, maintenance, and sanitation of the facility, grounds, and equipment, maintaining a high standard of safety and efficiency.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Ensure the general security of buildings, including closing and locking doors and windows.
- Support all district sustainability policies.
Requirements
Essential Physical Requirements: Frequent lifting, five to fifty pounds; occasional lifting, fifty to one hundred pounds; frequent extensive walking, bending, standing, reaching, and stooping; occasional climbing, kneeling, and squatting.
Qualifications
Education: High School or Equivalent.
