Qualifications

• Previous custodial or building maintenance experience preferred
• Previous custodial experience in a school or educational setting is highly preferred
• Ability to work independently, follow directions, and prioritize daily tasks
• Ability to interact professionally and appropriately with students, staff, and visitors
• Knowledge of safe cleaning practices, equipment operation, and basic facility maintenance is preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of classrooms, offices, restrooms, common areas, and other school facilities
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout the building
• Properly use, clean, and maintain hand tools, power tools, cleaning equipment, and other facility-related equipment
• Follow all applicable safety policies, procedures, and regulations, including proper handling and storage of cleaning supplies and chemicals
• Monitor the building for maintenance, safety, or security concerns and promptly report issues to administration
• Prepare classrooms and common areas for daily school operations, meetings, and special events
• Maintain adequate supplies and notify administration when cleaning or maintenance supplies need to be reordered
• Support a safe and positive school environment by maintaining facilities in a manner that promotes student and staff health and well-being
• Respond appropriately to spills, accidents, and other facility-related situations in accordance with school procedures
• Perform additional custodial and facility-related duties as assigned by administration
