Custodian

About the role

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties and all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Stop at-risk behavior of others and self
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
• Perform repetitive tasks
• Maintain a clean work area
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Communicate professionally with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers
• Fill in during staff shortages
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction
• Understand reporting systems and environmental impact

Requirements

• Ability to perform each essential duty safely and satisfactorily
• 3–6 months of training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid driver’s license may be required
• Completed all safety and task training certification
• Forklift certification may be required

Skills

• Bilingual ability is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, and willingness to share with the team
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to sit, talk, or listen
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds

Pay

$15.00–$16.00 per hour

Schedule

• Saturday–Sunday: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
• Saturday–Sunday: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
• Saturday–Sunday: 12:00 PM–10:00 PM
• Saturday–Sunday: 2:00 PM–10:30 PM
