Requirements

  • Perform routine custodial tasks according to established maintenance schedules.
  • Perform special assigned duties for floor care including buffing, sealing and stripping, carpet shampoo and extraction, auto scrubbing operations, and pressure washing of the sidewalks.
  • Ensure engraved bricks are well maintained and clean.
  • Provide input to the Director of Facilities on general maintenance that may need to be performed, such as light bulb replacement or exhibit repairs.
  • Maintain security of the Museum during cleaning while the Museum is closed.
  • Undertake other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Facilities or the Lead Custodian.

Qualifications

  • Physical ability to perform manual work.
  • Minimum of six months experience in custodial, housekeeping, food service, or other related work.
  • Familiarity with cleaning procedures.
  • Familiarity with the care and maintenance of custodial equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of audio/visual equipment is helpful.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Willingness to work overtime during special events or heavy visitation periods.
