Custodian

About the Role

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas, ensuring a safe and healthy environment. This role involves performing a variety of janitorial duties, operating cleaning equipment, and adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform all janitorial duties listed on the daily schedule.
• Handle Hazardous Waste responsibilities, including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain its upkeep.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to the supervisor.
• Comply with all safety rules, policies, and procedures; stop at-risk behavior of others and self.
• Perform work assignments in a team environment and support shift leads in completing punch-list items.
• Maintain a clean work area and follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service, satisfaction, and reporting systems related to the environment.
• Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co-workers, managers, and customers.
• Fill in during staff shortages and perform repetitive tasks as required.

Requirements

• 3–6 months of training or experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• May require a valid driver’s license.
• Completion of all safety and task training certifications.
• May require forklift certification.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and chemicals, including their safe and efficient use.

Skills

• Bilingual ability is a plus.
• Willingness to share knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment with the team.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Pay

$15.00–$16.00 per hour.

Schedule

• Thursday–Sunday: 6:00 pm – 4:30 am
• Thursday–Sunday: 8:00 pm – 6:30 am
