Custodian

Full-time, year-round custodian position starting immediately.

Pay

Starting rate of pay is $21.35 per hour, with opportunity for increase based on past experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine manual work involving custodial and housekeeping care of school buildings and grounds.
• Maintain janitorial and housekeeping supplies and ensure re-ordering through supervisor when needed.
• Keep custodial storage areas clean and orderly.
• Notify and assist supervisor when repairs are needed.
• Perform grounds keeping, snow and ice removal, and recycling as needed.
• Monitor cafeteria and gymnasium cleanliness, including mopping and sweeping.
• Secure building according to plan devised with building administrator.
• Clean and disinfect drinking fountains.
• Buff, dust mop, wet mop, and vacuum floors.
• Dust window sills, shelves, counters, and board rails as specified.
• Remove graffiti as needed.
• Assist annually in stripping and waxing floors and steam cleaning carpets.
• Set up and break down for meetings, dances, activities, and athletic events per work request.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal and/or Head Custodian.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Demonstrated custodial experience.
