Custodian

About the role

This position serves in the capacity of the Custodian. General discretion and judgment are exercised routinely in the execution of job duties. If errors in judgment or professional execution of responsibilities are made, the department may be negatively impacted.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and scrub all floors.
• Empty trash, garbage, and recycling containers daily.
• Clean and wash walls, windows, door panels, and sills.
• Clean all restroom fixtures and refill dispensers.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and furniture.
• Complete assigned online training by the established due date(s).
• Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
• Depending on assignment and location, this role may assist up to 30% of the time with clerical duties including but not limited to reviewing maintenance work orders, document scanning and filing, email communications, and updating expense spreadsheets.

Education and experience

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a custodian, preferably in a heavy industrial environment
• Or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Skills

• Navigate basic computer systems and programs
• Use a computer to clock in and out of work
• Complete online training courses with minimal technical assistance
• Effectively communicate via email and other communication platforms (i.e. Microsoft Teams)
