Responsibilities
- General Cleaning & Sanitation
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and clean floors and other surfaces.
- Clean, dust, and wax furniture, fixtures, windows, doors, trim, and other surfaces.
- Clean and service restrooms, ensuring proper sanitation and replenishment of supplies.
- Wash interior glass surfaces including windows, partitions, framed pictures, and doors.
- Clean exterior window and door glass as required.
- Collect, bag, and remove trash and recyclable materials from classrooms, offices, and building spaces.
- Floor Care & Maintenance
- Clean, renovate, and refinish floor surfaces using appropriate materials and equipment.
- Properly operate and maintain floor-cleaning equipment such as scrubbers, buffers, and vacuums.
- Replace incandescent and fluorescent light bulbs as needed.
- Building Support & Operations
- Moves furniture, office items, classroom supplies, and other equipment as directed.
- Affixes signs, posters, and other temporary decorations as needed.
- Assists with opening and closing procedures, including locking and unlocking doors and windows.
- Turns off unnecessary lights and verifies that areas are secure.
- Maintains building entrances by sweeping or shoveling snow and treating icy steps or walkways when needed.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Provides general support to staff and administration to maintain a safe and functional environment.
- Completes all assigned work orders in a timely and professional manner.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds or administration.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous custodial, maintenance, or facility operations experience preferred.
- Able to lift 50 pounds, move furniture, and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
- Able to safely use custodial tools, cleaning equipment, and chemicals.
- Maintains high standards of cleanliness and ensures areas are thoroughly and consistently maintained.
- Manages tasks efficiently, prioritizes responsibilities, and completes work within set timelines.
- Responds effectively to changing priorities, urgent tasks, or building needs.
- Maintains punctual attendance and demonstrates consistency, integrity, and trustworthiness.
- Works cooperatively with staff, students, and administrators in a professional manner.
- Follows all district safety protocols, including chemical handling, equipment use, and building procedures.

Approximately $48,894.55 (includes 2nd shift stipend and weekend stipend) (prorated first year based on start date)
