Custodian

About the role

Cleans rooms and halls in commercial establishment. Replenishes supplies. Hangs drapes and rolls carpets. Cleans lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, and stairways. Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floor. Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies. Dusts furniture. Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork. Washes windows, door panels, and sills and empties wastebaskets.

Qualifications

• One year experience in janitorial or light building maintenance; or, combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standard listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
• A High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Key Responsibilities

• To keep assigned building interiors clean and orderly;
• To perform variety of custodial and minor building maintenance duties.
• To strip, wax, buff and seal floors as directed.
• To vacuum and clean rugs.
• To clean bathrooms, walls, fountains, windows and replenish supplies.
• To empty trash from assigned offices.
• To report necessary repairs to supervisor.
• To perform other duties as assigned.
