Custodian

Qualifications

Required: Physical ability to perform strenuous work in a fast-paced work environment.

Preferred: Custodial experience in an industrial, commercial setting; general awareness of janitorial practices and procedures; experience with janitorial equipment (machines relating to buffing, waxing, stripping, etc.) and cleaning products.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and clean floors
• Clean and mop bathrooms
• Vacuum carpeted areas
• Clean windows, blinds and drapes
• Clean all glass doors in public areas
• Thoroughly clean all drinking fountains
• Clean and dust all furniture
• Clean all equipment used daily, including vacuum cleaner
• Gather and dispose of all trash daily
• Report all maintenance needs and damages as soon as possible
• Be responsible for requesting and maintaining appropriate supplies
• Be available for after-hours events as needed
• Coordinate and set up Facility Use Requests
• Clean all sidewalks, walkways and stairs adjacent to assigned buildings
• Perform other related duties as assigned
