About the role

A vacancy exists for the position of Custodian within the Half Hollow Hills School District Facilities Department. The opening is located at Candlewood Middle School.

Responsibilities

• Perform building maintenance and equipment repairs
• Respond to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (e.g., facility damage, vandalism, alarms) and take appropriate action or notify appropriate personnel
• Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
• Use and care of all custodial equipment
• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment
• Support organizational structure and function as part of a larger operation, ready to tackle any project in need of completion
• Be on-call/available for building-specific emergencies, mechanical failures, snow removal, and/or other overtime
• Work overtime as needed
• May be assigned to the Flex shift as specified in the contract

Requirements

• Must have a valid driver's license in good standing
• Knowledge of and experience in maintaining a safe and sanitary environment
• Knowledge of and experience in performing building maintenance and equipment repairs
• Knowledge of and experience in responding to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (i.e., facility damage, vandalism, alarms, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action or notifying appropriate personnel
• Knowledge of and experience in performing other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
• Knowledge of and experience in the use and care of all custodial equipment
