Custodian

Job Description Central Catholic High School in Wheeling, WV is seeking a full-time custodian to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our school facilities. The custodian will perform a variety of tasks to ensure the school is clean, functional, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities • Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting • Clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, hallways, and common areas • Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly • Stock and maintain restroom supplies • Perform light maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, minor repairs, and painting • Set up and break down furniture for school events and activities • Monitor and report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate personnel • Follow all safety protocols and procedures • Other duties as assigned Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent required • At least 1 year of custodial or janitorial experience preferred • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and standing for extended periods • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions • Must be able to pass a background check and provide references Benefits • Full benefit package, including health, dental, and vision insurance • Retirement plan options • Paid time off and holidays • Professional development opportunities Schedule • Full-time position • Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings or weekends for school events • 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (schedule may vary slightly based on school needs) Pay • $15.00 to $17.00 per hour, commensurate with experience**
