Custodian

About the role

Perform a variety of custodial duties under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor, following established standards, instructions, and procedures of C&W Services.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior surfaces.
• Operate light and heavy commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot clean and shampoo rugs as directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and all other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills, interior door glass, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, both interior and exterior.
• Wash or spot clean interior walls as needed daily.
• Clean bathrooms daily and restock paper supplies; perform standard bathroom procedures such as damp wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers, cleaning tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and scrubbing floors.
• Monitor and report possible defects such as clogged urinals and non-functional lights.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move to designated collection areas.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps, walkways at building entrances, and connecting sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic tasks such as high dusting, polishing leather and wood surfaces, and wall washing.
• Complete any and all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• No previous experience required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using cleaning tools and equipment, including portable backpack-style vacuum cleaners.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, strong organizational skills, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Pay

The compensation for this position is $14.00 - $15.00 per hour. The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role. Pay may vary based on factors such as geographic location, date of hire, total hours worked, job type, business line, and applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
