About the role

This position is considered a Safety-Sensitive position. Applicants who pass the interview process will be subject to drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to communicate with others in spoken and written English to ensure the safe and efficient operations of the business.
• Opens and closes building; prepares building for day activity; ensures building is secure at closing.
• Maintains and cleans restrooms, drinking fountains and kitchen in a sanitary manner.
• Removes litter and waste paper from inside the building and on the surrounding grounds; cares for and waters plants.
• Replaces soap and paper products in dispensers, sweeps, mops, and waxes floors and stairwells on a routine basis; vacuums and cleans carpets.
• Cleans windows; changes light bulbs and air filters as needed.
• Sets up and takes down for meetings and carries equipment, tables, chairs and other objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Dusts; polishes furniture; cleans window ledges, banisters, ceilings, radiators, and bleachers.
• Performs minor repairs to the facility and equipment as required and ensures the facility is safe for patrons and employees.
• Uses City-owned vehicles to run errands and deliveries.
• Uses a ladder and hand tools including, but not limited to, hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, heavy equipment, power tools, pliers, paint brushes, etc.
• Monitor building and report any maintenance needs to the supervisor.
• Some positions may require driving.
• Performs other work as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Three (3) months of janitorial or custodial experience preferred.
• Special Certifications And Licenses: Some positions may require a drivers license.
