Custodian 3rd shift

3rd shift Custodian position responsible for custodial duties in Wisconsin Union buildings, maintaining areas in a safe and sanitary condition. Reports to the Custodial Services Supervisor and works under the guidance of an Assistant Supervisor and/or Custodian Lead.

Responsibilities

• Clean and restock restrooms, common areas, restaurants, commercial kitchens, dining rooms, and theaters
• Perform snow removal
• Assist with carpet cleaning, hard floor maintenance and refinishing
• Maintain clean and clear walkways free of debris, litter, snow, and ice
• Monitor and secure facility interior and exterior entrances; report issues to appropriate entities
• Maintain organization of supply areas and equipment; document inventory and request additional supplies as needed
• Document and report repairs, violations, and pest control needs
• Utilize basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables

Schedule

• 40 hours per week
• 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM (Union South Building) or 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM (Memorial Union Building)
• Days worked and off are on a rotating schedule

Pay

• Base wage: $17.51 per hour
• Weekend differential: additional $0.80 per hour for work performed on Saturday and Sunday
• Night differential: additional $2.50 per hour for work performed between 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Requirements

• High School Diploma (preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 months of work experience
