Custodian: 3rd Shift

Reporting directly to the Director of Campus Services, the primary role of the Housekeeper/Custodian is to perform general cleaning and housekeeping services, as well as support Campus Services operationally as needed. The position includes detailed cleaning of campus facilities and residential properties and may support the Facilities Services team with setups, snow removal, exterior grounds support, and other duties as assigned. This is a third‑shift position with a flexible start time between 9 PM and 12 AM.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures.
• Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; replace light bulbs; launder cleaning rags, dust mops, and linens.
• Use and maintain assigned equipment, tools, and supplies, making minor repairs when necessary.
• Lock and unlock buildings, secure them when facilities are not in use, check for unlocked doors and windows, report unauthorized access, and shut off lights when buildings are unoccupied.
• Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies.
• Strip, clean, buff, and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard‑surface floors.
• Perform cleaning and related activities such as removing snow or debris from sidewalks and exterior stairs.
• Assist with set‑up of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
• Function as an effective member of the Housekeeping team, emphasizing consistent and punctual attendance.
• Accommodate schedule and duty changes for deep cleaning or special projects during breaks or as school needs evolve.

Qualifications

• Two years of cleaning experience preferred.
• Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in custodial and housekeeping work preferred.
• Ability to work independently with good time‑management skills and perform tasks without close supervision.
• Collaborative, collegial, and responsible work habits.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Flexibility to provide coverage during evening hours, weekends, holidays, and special events.

Schedule

Third shift with a flexible start time between 9 PM and 12 AM. Availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.

Pay

$19.00 – $20.00 per hour.
