About the Role
The Custodian position is a dynamic and vital role that combines communication, maintenance, and problem-solving skills to ensure a pristine and safe environment. This role requires effective communication in English to collaborate seamlessly with team members and property managers. Custodians maintain the cleanliness of common areas, restrooms, parking lots, and walk paths, ensuring that these spaces are inviting and well-stocked. Equipped with tools like pressure washers and leaf blowers, custodians tackle outdoor cleaning tasks with efficiency. A keen eye for detail is essential for following safety procedures and identifying/reporting issues such as burnt light bulbs, ensuring the building remains in top shape. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the environment, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming space for all.
Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively and understand English with team and property managers
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas within the building
- Clean restrooms, parking lot, walk paths, and restock supplies
- Remove and dispose of trash to designated areas
- Use a pressure wash machine and leaf blower/handheld blower
- Push trash bins as needed
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Utilize a smartphone to upload information online, communicate by email, respond to phone calls and text messages
- Follow safety procedures
- Report safety issues or building problems (e.g., burnt light bulbs)
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must pass HBM prescreen check
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
- Previous janitorial, custodian experience, or related experience is preferred (willing to train)
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
- Good public relations skills and communication
- Must perform basic manual labor, including cleaning common areas, pressing, pushing, pulling, and frequently lifting 40 lbs
- Must carry a minimum of 25 lbs (up to 50 lbs)
- Able to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, walk, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk up and down stairs, and use a ladder

Pay
Hourly rate: $17.00
Schedule
Monday to Friday:
- Monday: 6:00 AM – 12:30 PM
- Tuesday/Thursday: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Wednesday/Friday: 6:00 AM – 12:30 PM
34 hours per week
