Custodian - 10 Hours a Week

About the role

Clean and maintain district facilities using routine procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, whiteboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms according to a set schedule.
• Keep school buildings, sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and play areas neat and clean.
• Comply with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash.
• Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; request additional supplies as needed.
• Assist with lunchroom set-up, including arranging tables and chairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure students' and staff's comfort, health, and safety.
• Move furniture or equipment within the building as directed by the principal.
• Assist in setting up facilities for special events.
• Open and close the building each school day, ensuring all exit doors and panic bolts are functioning correctly during occupancy.
• Follow established procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilities.
• Inspect machines and equipment for safety and efficiency.
• Follow established safety procedures and techniques, including lifting and climbing.
• Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
• Correct unsafe conditions in the work area; report any conditions not immediately correctable to the supervisor.
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Requirements

• Citizenship, residency, or valid work visa required.

Pay

$11 to $13 per hour.

Schedule

Starting August 13, 2026. Hours vary within a 10-hour-per-week part-time schedule.
