Custodial Worker 1 - Cook Forest State Park Complex

This is a seasonal full-time position within the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) at Cook Forest State Park Complex. Previous applicants do not need to reapply.

About the role

As a Custodial Worker 1, you will help care for the facilities and grounds of Cook Forest State Park Complex, ensuring the park remains comfortable and enjoyable for guests year-round. Your work will directly support park operations through steady, meaningful tasks.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect restrooms, bathhouses, and cabins, including toilets, sinks, showers, floors, and walls
• Scrub, dust, and polish floors, furniture, and fixtures; replace restroom supplies
• Empty garbage cans, replace bags, and dispose of trash in designated dumpsters
• Maintain grounds by picking up litter, mowing turf areas, trimming, and clearing snow and walkways
• Perform basic repairs, such as replacing light bulbs, making simple fixes to buildings and equipment, or reporting issues to a supervisor
• Transport cleaning equipment, deliver supplies, and travel to various locations within the park complex using vehicles

Requirements

• Possess a valid Class C Driver’s License
• Able to perform essential job functions

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more years of cleaning experience

Schedule

Seasonal full-time employment. Work days and shifts will vary due to the seasonal nature of this position. Telework is not an option for this role.
