Custodial Work Supervisor - Norristown State Hospital (2nd Shift)
Description of Work
This position leads custodial employees who maintain clean and safe areas throughout the facility. The role includes supervising staff, organizing daily tasks, and ensuring proper cleaning practices. As a Custodial Work Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:
- Staff Leadership: Supervise custodial workers as they clean offices, treatment areas, and other facility spaces
- Safety Practices: Guide staff in following safety procedures while working near clients, visitors, and coworkers
- Daily Operations: Direct cleaning tasks, waste collection, snow removal, and vector control activities
- Equipment Training: Teach staff the correct use of cleaning tools, chemicals, and disinfectants
- Record Keeping: Maintain reports, supply requests, and documentation for custodial operations
- Process Support: Assist management with improving procedures and evaluating sanitation standards
Qualifications Required
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Custodial Worker 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Two years of experience performing custodial work.

Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
