Custodial Technician - Sioux City Federal Courthouse

Full-time position, Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–2:30 pm.

About the role

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Custodial Technician to join our team. As a Custodial Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within our facilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and notify management of any shortages.
• Conduct minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and repairing minor fixtures.
• Follow safety protocols and use cleaning chemicals and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.

Requirements

• Must be able to pass a comprehensive federal background check and fingerprinting.
• Must be able to speak, write, and understand English.
• Proven experience as a custodian, janitor, or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in custodial services (not required).
