Custodial Technician - Evening Shift

Responsibilities

• Perform daily tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, polishing floors, and emptying waste bins.
• Clean and sanitize all assigned cleanable surfaces, including high-use areas like restrooms and kitchens.
• Clean biohazard waste using proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Pick up litter and debris throughout the zoo grounds.
• Participate in snow removal operations and be available for on-call status during weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Operate light equipment for minor and major projects.
• Follow established procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Clean and maintain equipment according to guidelines.
• Dispose of trash properly and transport it to designated areas.
• Report maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Secure all doors within the assigned area.
• Replenish disposable products such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience as a custodian/janitor or a similar role.
• Working knowledge of industry equipment and how to maintain facilities.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to understand and follow oral, illustrated, written, or demonstrated instructions.
• Knowledge of safety hazards and necessary safety precautions.
• Ability to follow DZCA safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

• Ability to pass a physical examination, background check, and pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Schedule

Five days a week, including both weekend nights. Schedule Availability: 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM.

About the Role

Pay

The salary range for this position is $19.30 - $20.52 (hourly).
