Custodial Technician

About the role

The Custodial Technician maintains day-to-day cleanliness in the Health and Wellness Center, Early Learning Center, and various spaces at the Scantic Valley Y. The role is full-time and benefits eligible, working Tuesday through Saturday with flexible hours.

Essential Functions

• Empty trash and refill liners.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, showers, sauna and steam room.
• Clean and maintain the Wellness Floor, Gymnasium, Community room and other spaces as needed.
• Restock supplies in bathrooms, showers and Wellness Floor.
• Wash loads of member’s towels as needed.
• Clean inside and outside windows and mirrors.
• Maintain and inventory of supplies.
• Ensure proper labeling and dilution of all chemicals.
• Always wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (gloves, etc.).
• Perform other routine maintenance duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED or equivalent is strongly preferred.
• One to two years of related experience is preferred.
• One to two years of experience with wood and tile floor maintenance (i.e. wax, shine, strip) is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products is required.
• An exceptional customer relations focused attitude is necessary.
• A strong focus on critical problem-solving is expected.
• A willingness to work in a team-centric environment is required.
