Custodial Technician 1
At PNNL, our core capabilities are divided among major departments called Directorates, each focused on a specific area of scientific research or operational function. The Operational Systems Directorate (OSD) leads PNNL’s 10-year, $1.2 billion campus construction portfolio—the largest in the Laboratory’s history. OSD oversees operations, facility services, maintenance, and infrastructure planning, with nearly 800 staff across disciplines including craftspeople, engineers, construction professionals, technicians, scientists, administrators, and specialists. The directorate manages over $250 million in annual budget authority, more than 2.5 million square feet of facility space, approximately 200 regulatory program areas, and a multi-million-dollar facility and infrastructure project portfolio.
The Facilities & Infrastructure Operations (F&IO) Division is responsible for operating and maintaining PNNL’s buildings, grounds, and utilities. The F&IO team includes plant engineering, fabrication, craft services, duplicating and mail services, facility program support, relocations, and receiving, with approximately 363 staff, including over 250 bargaining unit (union) employees.
Responsibilities
- Perform assigned janitorial duties, including dust mopping, wet mopping, vacuuming, general cleaning, window washing, dusting, and collecting waste.
- Order and stock supplies as needed.
- Engage in physical tasks requiring stooping, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Complete online training and efficiently use internet, Outlook, and other computer applications.
- Provide high-quality customer service, demonstrating good judgment and a positive attitude while interacting with office personnel.
- Respond effectively to supervision, changing assignments, and emergencies or special requests.
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: Technical Institute Graduate (TIG), AA degree, or higher; OR a high school diploma/GED with 2 years of relevant experience.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using custodial tools and equipment, and applying effective cleaning, sanitation, and disinfection practices.
- Experience providing customer service through direct interaction with customers, clients, or stakeholders.
This is a part-time, on-site position located in Sequim, WA. This role is not a Testing Designated Position (TDP).

Pay
Minimum Salary: USD $1,132.69/week. Maximum Salary: USD $1,578.85/week.
